Alena Schmickl, Startup Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS), visited the chair on February 1, 2024 as part of a guest lecture in the Master's course "Text Mining in den Wirtschaftswissenschaften" by Dr. Nahr. 

The guest lecture entitled "NLP on the Cloud - from Code to Production" explored, among other things, how natural language processing (NLP) techniques and algorithms are used in the AWS product portfolio, what challenges arise in the development of NLP models and how current technological developments with the emergence of generative AI technologies affect the use and operation of these models. These questions were addressed and discussed with the students using various real application scenarios at AWS and illustrative tool demonstrations.
